Boxx is located in the heart of the LA Arts District. I would say that out of all the coffee shops in the Arts District, Boxx has the most decent seating area and placement. The background music is not too loud and it's not too busy during the day. Drinks are decent with good amount of drinks and pastries selection. If you can find parking, I would recommend Boxx if you are looking for a place to work remotely or just to catch up with a couple of friends.

Great pastries - I loved the Cheese Danish, it had a nice little hint of spice, it was flaky, and they served it warm which was fantastic! The service was great and the ambiance was nice too.Mosy people come here for the coffee, but it's pretty good all around. Coffee/Food: 4.5/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Value: 3/5 Overall: 4/5

This coffee place is located in art district area - in the neighborhood of Little Tokyo, other food establishments such as Manuela, Yi Fang, Wurskutche, etc. I don't really drink coffee and mainly drink matcha. And this review is for their Matcha and fresh brewed tea. Boxx serves ceremonial matcha latte and their alternative milk is included in their price which is always a plus since these days cafe always charges extra for the non dairy milk. This is non negotiable for me since I do have dairy allergy. I could tell from the color of their matcha - which is vibrant fresh green color, that it is a good quality And plus it didn't taste run down as a latte. I also tried their Peach Blossom tea which is so fragrant, light and fresh. They freshly brew their loose leaf tea and it only takes a few minutes for it to get brewed. A plus for this place is that they validate parking. This is huge for downtown LA especially Art District area and for us who need to grab quick drinks during lunch break, it's very helpful. Their location is part of Aliso building which connects the apartment building above the store. On the same side of Boxx, a couple of stores down, you'll make a turn in and go inside the 1st parking lot (if you go further, there's another parking lot which is for residents). Grab the parking ticket and when you get your drink at Boxx, let them know that you need a validation. They'll give you a validation ticket which looks exactly like the parking ticket you grab when you go in. So I usually fold in tiny bit of the bottom corner of the original parking ticket so i don't get confused. This is because when you get out of the parking lot, you need to put in the validation ticket first then you put in the original parking ticket. The validation is for 2 hours. The area outside is pretty calm and Boxx have outdoor covered seating where you can just enjoy your drink. This is def my to-go place for matcha and tea. :)

Was able to visit again. Coffee and food were as good as we remembered it. Pretty consistent, which is what you want. Same with the service. There was less less available seating during this visit - there are definitely more people later in the day and also, it's raining so everyone was huddled inside. No chocolates on site for the little one - I was informed it was because they don't serve sweet drinks. Artichoke Danish was warm and delicious. Ham and cheese croissant is flaky. Chocolate cookie is very good. Cortado is strong and more concentrated. Latte is strong and doesn't taste milky at all. Matcha Latte was delicious. Triple Chocalate Cookie is delicious. I love the space here. It's beautiful. Also, they roast the coffee on site.
